Women’s Nutrition & Probiotics

Probiotics are defined as microorganisms that have a beneficial effect on the host intestinal microbe balance. Lactic Acid bacteria and bifidobacteria are the common types of probiotics but certain yeasts and bacilli may also be used. Yogurts, keffir, and lacto-fermented vegetables such as sauerkraut, lacto-fermented pickles, and kimchi are all good sources of natural occurring probiotics.
